Abstract
The 2009 general election was the first election in which women candidates have to compete freely and very hard with men candidates. This is as a consequence of the Decision of the Constitutional Court No. 22 -24 / PUU -VI / 2008, which establishes the candidates elected by a majority vote. This study examines the implications of the Decision of the Constitutional Court against the vote of women candidates. The study was conducted in Banyumas by using descriptive survey based on secondary data published by the National Election Commission (KPU) Banyumas. The study focused on the nine winners of the 2009 elections political parties include the Partai Hanura, Partai Gerindra, PKS, PAN, PKB, PPP, PDI-P, Partai Golkar, and Partai Demokrat. The results showed that not all political parties implement 30 percent quota for women candidates, but in general they respond well. Only three political parties winning the 2009 general election who consistently apply the 30 percent quota in each electoral district, namely Partai Hanura, PAN, and PPP. In general, women candidates are placed on the lower numbers while the positions have a positive correlation with the vote. Vote achieved by women candidates in general under the vote of men candidates.
