Abstract

This research is a research conducted on batik artisans in PapringanVillage, Banyumas District. This research takes the title: “Factors Affecting TheIncome and Welfare Level Of Batik Artisans (Case Study In Papringan Village,Banyumas District, Banyumas Regency)”. The purpose of this study is todetermine the effect of level of education, working hour, age, skill and workexperience on income simultaneously and partially as well as to find out thevariable that has the dominant influence on income. The population in thisresearch is batik artisans in Papringan Village, Banyumas District. The number ofrespondents taken in this study is 65 respondents. The sampling method used issimple random sampling. Randomization was carried out with the help of therandbetween menu in Microsoft Excel. Based on the results of research and data analysis using multiple linearregression analysis shows that: (1) Simultaneously the level of education, workinghours, age, skills and work experience significantly influence the income of batikartisans in Papringan Village, Banyumas District, Banyumas Regency. Partiallyworking hours, skills and work experience have a positive and significant effecton the income of batik artisans in Papringan Village, Banyumas District.Meanwhile, partially the level of education and age did not affect the income ofbatik artisans in Papringan Village, Banyumas District, Banyumas Regency (2)Variable that has a dominant influence on income is age, (3) The level of welfareof batik artisans families in Papringan Village, Banyumas District has not fulfilledthe decent living needs or can be said to be not prosperous. The implication of the conclusion above is that in an effort to increase theincome of batik artisans in the Papringan Village of Banyumas District, thegovernment should provide training and quality improvement to batik artisansboth in production and marketing so as to increase the ability and knowledge ofthe artisans which can later be used as a reference to increase income.
