Abstract

This study was entitled “Factors Affecting The Income Of Women Single Parent Household (Case Study In Medang Lestari Village, Pagedangan District, Tangerang Regency)” The objective of this study was to find out the influence of age, working hour, education level, and number of family dependent against income simultaneously and partially also to identify dominant variables affected the income. This study was a quantitative study. Data used was primary data through the questionnaire distributing. The population in this study was single parent women in Medang Lestari Village, Tangerang Regency. The population number that was taken in this study of 50 respondents. The sampling method applied was simple random sampling. The analysis method applied double linear regression analysis by using ordinary least square approach. Based on the study result and data analysis, it showed that all independent variables, namely working hour (X1), age (X2), education level (X3), and number of family dependents (X4) brought positive and significant influence at the same time against household income of single parent women in Medang Lestari Village. This study also resulted that partially, working hour, age, and number of family dependents variables affected positively and significantly against household income of single parent women. Whereas, the variable of education level didn’t bring significant influence against household income of single parent women. The implication of this study that the variable of working hour, age, and number of family dependent brought positive and significant influence against household income of single parent women in Medang Lestari Village, for family members of single parent women could actively helped the head of the family to get incomes. The working hour, age, and number of family dependent also gave a big contribution in efforts to increase incomes. Therefor, it was expected to single parent women were able to utilize their work time and age well in getting incomes.
