Abstract

Students’ Response to Academic Writing Lecturers’ Performance at Their Fifth Semester in English Education Department Faculty of Humanity Jenderal Soedirman University Academic Year 2019/2020. Ministry of Education and Culture, Jenderal Soedirman University, Faculty of Humanity, Language Education Department, English Education Study Program, Purwokerto. This research entitled Students’ Response to Academic Writing Lecturers’ Performance at Their Fifth Semester in English Education Department Faculty of Humanity Jenderal Soedirman University Academic Year 2019/2020. The purpose of this research was to find out how students’ response to the Academic lecturers’ performance in the terms of personality traits, lesson planning and lesson delivery. The population of this research was 39 students, the researcher used purposive sampling technique in conducting this research. The researcher collected the data by using questionnaire and interview which started from February 28th to 27th March 2021. This research method was carried out using a qualitative research method that produces descriptive data. Data analysis techniques are used through data reduction, data display, and verification (concluding). Based on the research findings, it is concluded that lecturers’ performance in teaching Academic Writing can be categorized quite well. Most of the students gave positive response, this is seen from the results of the percentage that the researchers have done that Lecture A shows 88.1% for his personality traits, 88.3% for his lesson planning and 86.0% for his lesson delivery. Meanwhile for Lecture B 81.2% in her personality traits, 82.2% for her lesson planning and 77.5% for her lesson delivery. Eventhough it is not easy to learn Academic writing in this pandemic situation students feel difficult and bored with the material presented through online but they are not desperate to learn it. Penelitian ini berjudul Respon Mahasiswa terhadap Kinerja Dosen Penulisan Akdemik pada Semester Lima di Program Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman Tahun Akademik 2019/2021. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana respon mahasiswa terhadap kinerja dosen dalam hal kepribadian, perencanaan pembelajaran dan penyampaian pembelajaran. Populasi dari penelitian ini berjumlah 39 siswa, peneliti menggunakan pengambilan sample secara sengaja dalam melakukam penelitian ini. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan kuesioner dan wawancara yang mana di mulai dari tanggal 28 Februari 2021 sampai pada tanggal 27 Maret 2021. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dan menghasilkan data deskriptif. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, tampilan data dan verifikasi (kesimpulan). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bisa disimpulkan bahwa kinerja dosen penulisan akademik sudah sangat bagus. Sebagian besar siswa memberikan respon yang positif, di lihat dari hasil persentase yang sudah dilakukan oleh peneliti bahwa Dosen A menampilkan 88.1% untuk karakter kepribadian, 88.3% untuk perencanaan pembelajaran dan 86.0% untuk penyampaian pembelajan. Sementara itu untuk Dosen B mendapatkan 81.2% untuk karakter kepribadian, 82.2% untuk perencanaan pembelajaran dan 77.5% untuk penyampaian pembelajan. Dalam mengikuti pembelajaran di Kepenulisan Akademik pada situasi pandemi seperti ini, mahasiswa merasa kesulitan dan bosan tetapi mereka tidak menyerah dalam mempelajari mata kuliah Kepenulisan Akademik.
