Tofu industrial wastewaters contain organic materials that cause environment pollution. An alternative of handling and utility of the waste is as substrates of biogass production. The process of biogas production pass through four stages, are tyro9ysis, acidogenesis, acetogenesis, and methanogenesis carried out consortium of bacteria. Methanognesis occurs under anaerobic condition, The objective of this research are to know genera of methonogenie bocteri in the biodegrodotion process of tofu wastewater and to know genera of methanogenit bacteria dominated biodegradation process of tofu wastewater in the biogass production in Kalisari village, Cilongok Banyumas. The sludge was sampled from outlet pipe to trickling fitter (A) and liquid waste was sampled from recycle pipe (B) Characters of methanogenic bacteria observed were colony morphology, cell morphology, biochemical, and physiological tests. identification of the isolates referred to Bergey's Manual of Determinative Bacteriology. Based on characterization and identification found 6 genera of methanogenic bacteria i.e Methanothermus, Methanospoera, Methanospirillumn, Methanococoides, Methanomicrobi, and Methanococcus. The genera dominated in biodegradation process of tofu wastewater were Methanococcus and Methanothers
