Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas penggunaan algoritma Huffman dan algoritma Shannon Fano untuk kompresi teks. Graf pohon berakar biner dibuat untuk membentuk suatu kode yang lebih pendek dari ASCII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa algoritma Huffman lebih baik dalam mengompresi suatu teks dibandingkan dengan algoritma Shannon Fano. Namun, untuk pembentukan graf pohon biner, algoritma Shannon Fano lebih baik dan lebih ringkas. Kompresi data berupa teks juga dapat dilakukan dengan program bahasa Python.
