Abstract
This research entitled "Jin Seon's Unconsciousness As A Trigger To Be A Murderer in Bastard webtoon by Carnby Kim" aims to find out the reason why Jin Seon become a murderer. This qualitative research utilizes psychoanalysis in literature theories as the main theory to analyze the psychology of the main character, Jin Seon. Then in addition to the main data in this study, the researcher also uses the unconsciousness concept to proof about Jin Seon’s unconsciousness and also Sigmund Freud's defense mechanism to reveal about Jin Seon’s mind. The result of this study shows that there are six reasons why Jin Seon became a murderer, (1) little Jin Seon who had an accident caused him to lose his memory and turned him into a cold and different person. Then (2) Jin Seon's mother who left a deep trauma on him, (3) Jin Seon's father who took him to a place they used to call a "special room", (4) Jin Seon's hidden identity and desires, (5) the result of the bullying experienced by Jin Seon and finally (6) the true reality of Jin Seon in the past and present.
