Abstract
This study is a study of the occurrence of capital flight in Indonesia in the period 2000-2021. This study aims to examine the effect of Exchange Rate, Interest Rate, and Dummy Sovereign Rating on Capital Flight in Indonesia and to examine the variables that most influence the occurrence of capital flight in Indonesia. The data used in this study is secondary data obtained from various sources. The analytical tool used is multiple linear regression and uses the classical assumption test, F test and t test. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, it shows that: (1) simultaneously, exchange rate, interest rate, and dummy sovereign rating variable have a significant influence on capital flight in Indonesia, (2) exchange rate variable has a significant negative effect on capital flight in Indonesia, (3) the interest rate variable has a significant negative effect on capital flight in Indonesia, (4) the dummy sovereign rating variable has no effect on the occurrence of capital flight in Indonesia, (4) the exchange rate variable is the most influential variable on the occurrence of capital flight in Indonesia. The implication of the above conclusion is the need for control by the government and Bank Indonesia in maintaining the stability of the exchange rate, so that the value of capital flight can be controlled. Such as maintaining banking liquidity and minimizing the occurrence of inflation spikes that can affect the stability of the rupiah exchange rate. Bank Indonesia can also intervene in foreign exchange reserves through foreign exchange management not only for imports of basic needs but also for dollar intervention in the market by providing foreign exchange reserves when the demand for dollars is high (depreciation). So that when there is turmoil in the economy, the rupiah exchange rate can be in a safe and stable position. Keywords: capital flight, interest rate, exchange rate, sovereign credit rating
