Abstract

The election is mechanism to elect a leader and politician. It were believed as a legal mechanism to rulling ellite. The election is the one of indicator democratic or not for its country. this paper aims to elaborate how to maintain the quality of democracy on local election. This research is qualittaive research with library research. The result of research shows that the first: the problems of local election are normative problem, prosedural problem, sosiological problem, and problem politics. Second; the quality of electoral democracy could be preserve by enforcing the electoral law and electoral process to produce democratic government. The conclusion of this paper that the implementationof the local election has found some problem so that to maintain the quality of election should enforcement the rule of law and guard every step it can work on its regulation.
