Abstract

School-based management (SBM) is a governance model that gives great authority to the management of the school to perform the duties and responsibilities in the administration and servicing Javanese pndidikan in the educational unit. This model that has become a common policy in the management systems of education at primary and secondary levels of education. The results of the research showed that, the successful implementation of MBS affected by how comprehensive understanding of the principal as the manager of the program. Without understanding about the program, the program will be difficult to be achieved. A policy and programs can be implemented in accordance with what is expected, if there is a good understanding of managers at an operational level. Thus, the capacity of the manager could determine the quality of the MBS.
