Abstract

Pataruman District is one of the largest producing districts with the highest average productivity/planting area in Banjar City, but most rice paddy farmers have yet to be able to produce rice according to their cultivation standards, causing suboptimal agricultural production. This study aims to analyze the effect of seeds, fertilizers, labor, land area, age, and education on production in paddy rice farming in Pataruman District, Banjar City. The sample used in this study was 97 rice farmers using simple random sampling. Data collection techniques use observation methods, interviews based on questionnaires, and documentation. Technical data analysis using multiple linear regression of Cobb-Douglass functions. Based on the results of research and data analysis shows that: (1) seeds has a significant effect on rice production, (2) fertilizer has a significant effect on rice production, (3) labor does not has a significant effect on rice production, (4) land area has a significant effect on rice production, (5) age does not has a significant effect on rice production, (6) education has a significant effect on rice production in the sub-district Pataruman, Banjar City. The implication of this study is that to increase rice production, farmers should pay attention to the seeds used with good guaranteed quality so that their production results are better, the fertilizers used by farmers need to be balanced by operational standards so that the results are maximized, the number of workers needs to be increased by land area and operational standards, farmers who experience shrinkage in the land area use more land using Taking into account production factors such as the use of seeds and fertilizers by operational standards, farmers with limited experience need to be improved through counselling and officer assistance, and farmers with low education need to be improved through informal education such as counselling, field schools, and others to be able to apply new technology.
