Abstract

The Serayu River, which stretches from the Dieng Plains to flows into Cilacap Regency, carries its own commodity, namely sand mining. Sand mining activities are also quite old, especially in modern human life, sand excavated materials are very useful for building buildings, including in Banjarnegara Regency which contributes 4% of Banjarnegara Regency's GRDP. This attracts researchers to conduct research. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The result is sand mining in the Serayu River using simple tools. It is not permitted to use modern tools. Miners also usually spend their free time splitting, fishing, and gardening. Income The average income received by sand miners for one month is IDR 8,400,000, loading and unloading workers are IDR 3,360.00 while cars carrying sand are IDR 5,448,000. So that sand mining activities can provide socio-economic changes for the perpetrators and lead to a decent life. Keywords: Sand mining, Serayu river, Socio-economic
