Abstract
This study aims to determine the Linguistic Category Model based on Fiedler, Semin and Coenan (2006) and Stereotype Triggering Factors based on Atjony (2011) used in Oprah Winfrey and Meghan Markle's show. The differences in social life leads to clashes between ethnicities and races, the differences that exist lead to stereotypical behavior. Stereotypes are divided into two, namely positive stereotypes and negative stereotypes, but most stereotypes lead to negative results that lead to racism. The method used in this thesis is a descriptive qualitative method and total sampling is used to answer the research questions. The data source used in this research is a video interview in a program hosted by Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry which can initially be watched on CBC News. The data used are the words of Meghan Markle, Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry. The theories used in this thesis are the linguistic characteristics of stereotypes by Fiedler and Semin and Coenan (2006) and the actors who initiate stereotypes based on Ajtony (2011). The results show 22 Linguistic Category Model data that reflect stereotypes and 14 data of factors that initiate stereotypes.
