Abstract
This research examines the technical efficiency of palm oil companies in Indonesia which have a strategic role for Indonesia's economic growth, namely as providers of goods and care for consumers. The agricultural sector contributes to Domestic Product (GDP). Because the plantation subsector has the most commodities in Indonesia compared to other subsectors. Oil palm plantations are the largest plantations compared to other plantations, but in 2019 they had the highest productivity of 3,259 Kg/Ha compared to 2023, palm oil productivity decreased significantly by 2,860 Kg/Ha. The aim of this research is to analyze the level and condition of efficiency of palm oil companies in Indonesia. This research uses primary data listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI). The population and sample in this research are 10 palm oil companies. The analysis technique used by the author is Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). The results of this research show that of the 10 palm oil companies in Indonesia, five companies are in an efficient condition while the other five palm oil companies are in an inefficient condition. Most palm oil companies that are not efficient in terms of asset variables have shortcomings, as well as salary and allowance variables, other costs, and financial costs that experience excess usage which makes the company not yet at the level of efficiency. The implication of this research is that there are three input variables that have excess usage and there is one input variable that must be added to achieve the level of efficiency. Besides that, one input variable that must be added is the asset variable, while the three variables that must be reduced are salary and allowances, other costs, and financial costs.
