Abstract

This paper examines the significant influence of right-leaning think tanks like the Heritage Foundation and the Adam Smith Institute on public opinion and policy, particularly in modern political discourse. It scrutinizes their alleged impartiality while promoting conservative interests, using methods such as social media and traditional media to spread their messages. A notable example is the Adam Smith Institute's advocacy for privatizing the Moon, illustrating the relationship between think tank propaganda and media. Using a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis, the study highlights these think tanks' use of selective evidence and emotional appeals to support conservative agendas. It analyzes the Heritage Foundation's Project 2025 as a manifesto for consolidating presidential power and promoting deregulation. The findings underscore the profound impact of these think tanks on global policies and socio-political changes, emphasizing their role in shaping contemporary journalism and political debate while often compromising transparency and objective policy analysis.
