Abstract

The Job Training Report titled “Managing Instagram for Employee Engagement as a Social Media Specialist Intern at PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk. Boyolali Branch” is based on activities carried out during the job training period at PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk. Boyolali Branch, from September 9, 2024, to December 31, 2024. As a Social Media Specialist intern, the main task during this job training was to manage the Instagram account for employee engagement. The goal was to internalize the 2i & 3k work culture among employees, which the 2i stands for Integritas yang tinggi (High integrity) and Inovasi untuk kemajuan yang lebih baik (Innovation for better progress), and the 3k stands for Kualitas dan produktivitas yang tertinggi (The highest quality and productivity), Kerjasama tim (Teamwork), and Kepuasan pelanggan melalui standar pelayanan yang terbaik (Customer satisfaction through the highest service standards). During the job training, observation, hands-on practice, and focus group discussion were used to manage the Instagram account for employee engagement at Alfamidi Boyolali. Observation helped identify audience preferences and content performance, while hands-on practice involved directly planning, creating, and evaluating content under mentor supervision. Focus group discussion with other interns allowed for sharing progress and challenges across branches. Together, these methods improved content quality, increased engagement, and formed a strong foundation for better account management in the following months. The account management process consisted of four stages: editing (divided into photo and video editing), caption writing, audience interaction, and monthly insight analysis. Among these stages, the main challenge encountered was aligning content ideas with the company’s work culture. However, by seeking more references and modifying them to fit these values, the challenge was successfully addressed.
