Abstract

Perbaikan potensi genetik adalah satu cara meningkatkan produktivitas yaitu dengan melalui pembentukan varietas hibrida dan penggunaan varietas unggul baru, serta penyesuaian pada kondisi lingkungan tempat penanaman melalui introduksi tanaman. Introduksi tanaman yang dimaksudkan adalah mendatangkan atau memasukkan varietas-varietas tanaman dari luar negeri ke suatu negeri. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan respon pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai rawit introduksi serta tingkat adaptasi ketika ditanam di dataran rendah Purbalingga pada musim hujan. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Kedungjampang, Kecamatan Kutasari, Kabupaten Purbalingga, pada bulan Maret - Agustus 2023. Penelitian ini merupakan percobaan lapang yang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), dengan perlakuan genotipe cabai rawit introduksi sebanyak (SV9512HM, SVHM5008) dan pembanding dua jenis (Pelita, Sonar). Percobaan diulang sebanyak 6 kali. Variabel yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, luas daun, diameter batang, umur berbunga, umur panen, panjang buah, diameter buah, panjang tangkai buah, bobot per buah, jumlah buah per tanaman, bobot buah per tanaman, bentuk buah, warna buah, bentuk daun, dan warna daun. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) pada taraf kesalahan 5%, dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut menggunakan BNT (Beda Nyata Terkecil) pada taraf kesalahan 5%. Pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman cabai rawit introduksi di dataran rendah memberikan respon yang berbeda. Tanaman cabai rawit introduksi SV9512HM menunjukkan karakter pertumbuhan berupa tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, umur berbunga, sekaligus karakter hasil berupa bobot per buah dan bobot buah per tanaman yang paling baik. Improving genetic potential is one way to increase productivity, namely through the formation of hybrid varieties and the use of new superior varieties, as well as adjustments to the environmental conditions of the planting site through plant introduction. The introduction of plants referred to here means bringing in or importing plant varieties from abroad into a country. The purpose of this research is to obtain the growth response and yield of introduced chili plants, as well as their adaptation level when planted in the lowlands of Purbalingga during the rainy season. This research was conducted in Kedungjampang Village, Kutasari District, Purbalingga Regency. The research activities were conducted from March to August 2023. This research is a field experiment using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) by comparing introduced chili pepper plants (SV9512HM, SVHM5008) and controls (Pelita, Sonar). The treatment is repeated 6 times. The were analyzed using analysis of variance at a 5% error level, continued tested using Least Significant Difference test at a 5% error level. The observed variables are plant height, leaf area, stem diameter, flowering age, harvesting age, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit stem length, weight per fruit, number of fruits per plant, weight of fruits per plant, fruit shape, fruit color, leaf shape, and leaf color. The research results show that the growth and yield of introduced bird's eye chili plants in lowland areas respond differently. The introduced SV9512HM chili plant shows growth characteristics such as plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, as well as yield characteristics such as weight per fruit and weight per plant that is the best.
