Abstract

ABSTRACT The increasing number of cases of violence involving sharp weapons committed by teenagers is a growing concern in Indonesia. Banyumas Regency has also been affected by this phenomenon. This study aims to examine the impact of the free trade of sharp weapons through online media on the increase in cases of violence against teenagers and to determine whether law enforcement officers are handling violence against teenagers using sharp weapons. Furthermore, the study aims to determine whether the Banyumas Police have taken measures to combat the crime of free trade in sharp weapons through online media, which has led to the rise in violence among teenagers. This study uses an empirical juridical approach with descriptive analytical research specifications. Informants were members of the Banyumas City Police Resort, selected using purposive sampling. The data types consist of primary and secondary data obtained from field studies and literature reviews through interviews and literature reviews. The results show that the free trade of sharp weapons through online media has significantly increased violence among teenagers. This occurs due to the ease of online access by teenagers to obtain sharp weapons without adequate legal supervision. The Banyumas Police's response to the free trade in sharp weapons through online media and the rise in violence among youth is carried out through several integrated efforts.
