Abstract
This research is about the factors that influence household consumption expenditure of farmers in Padureso Sub-District, Kebumen Regency, with variable income, the number of household members, education, and gender. The problem that Padureso District was ranked number 25 of the pre-prosperous population in Kebumen Regency. Evidenced by the number of pre-prosperous population as much as 1.62 percent. This makes Padureso District more able to meet household needs compared to other sub-districts. However, if seen further this need certainly causes differences in household members' consumption expenditure due to the factors that influence it. The purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of income, number of household members, education, and gender. Another purpose is to identify the most influencing factor of household consumption expenditure of farmers in Padureso Sub-District, Kebumen Regency. This research use primary data that was taken from informant and questioner by respondent. The number of sample is 98 and method of sample is random sampling. Based on the results of research and data analysis using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) shows that income and number of household members have a positive and significant effect on household consumption expenditure of farmers in Padureso sub-district, while the education and gender have no significant effect on household consumption expenditure of farmers in Padureso sub-district. The most influental variable on household consumption expenditure of farmers in Padureso sub-district is income. As implication of the conclusion above is household head should be more active in generating income because their job is to prosper their household. In addition, household heads with higher education level are expected to get better jobs so that the quality of their household will increase. Efforts need to be made to increase awareness of the household head’s financial, especially those who do not have side jobs and only rely on their main job as farmers because the needs of life will are higher along with development era.
