Abstract

This Research is entitled "Factors Affecting Income of Small-Scale Fishers in Juntinyut Subdistrict, Indramayu District". The purpose of this Research was to determine the effect of fishing gear, number of trips, number of catches, insurance and skills on fishers income and to find out small-scale fishers in Juntinyuat Subdistrict, Indramayu Regency based on the poverty line indicators of the statistical center was above or below the poverty line. This research is quantitative descriptive. The data used in this Research is the primary data obtained through direct interviews with respondents, the location of this study is Juntinyuat Subdistrict, Indramayu District. The number of small-scale fisher population in Juntinyuat Subdistrict, Indramayu Regency is 360 fisher, then the number of sample takes using Slovin formula with the results of 80 samples. Data processing in this research uses multiple linear regression analysis tools, based on the results of data analysis it is known that the fishing gear, the number of trips, the number of catches have a significant effect on fishers income while insurance and skills have no significant effect on fishers income. Based on poverty indicators, the statistics center for small-scale fisher in Juntinyuat sub-district is below the poverty line Based on the explanation above, to increase fishers income there needs to be a program that educates fisher about things that affect their incomes. Socialize the use of the right fishing gear so that the fishing business will be more efficient and effective as well as training / introduction of modern technology-based fishing methods so that fisher can increase their opinions and regardless of conditions of poverty.
