Abstract

Revitalization of Koperasi Unit Desa (KUD) in Banyumas Regency aims to analyze aspects that influence revitalization of KUD in Banyumas Regency, problems of KUD in Banyumas Regency, formulating solutions for each problems of KUD in Banyumas Regency, and compiling a strategy to revitalize KUD in Banyumas Regency. In this study using a combined method (qualitative and quantitative) and Analytic Network Process (ANP) to analyze the revitalization of KUD in Banyumas Regency. There are three steps in analyzing the data as the answers of the research formulation, namely: the first step is to conduct pre-survey, by means of literature review and interviews with interested parties regarding KUD; the second step is to compile a questionnaire and survey the keypersons; and the third step is to process data using super dicision software with ANP analysis method. While the keypersons in this study,are as follows: KUD practitioners, three academics, three NGO administrators, and two government officers. This study resulted that the aspect of members is a priority aspect. While aspects that affect the revitalization of KUD in Banyumas Regency are: 1) organizational aspects, 2) member aspects, 3) manager aspects, 4) business aspects, 5) government aspects, and 6) aspects of higher education. In each aspect, priority problems have been identified, the problem are: 1) priority problems in the organizational aspect is lack understanding of cooperative principles for management, 2) priority problems in the member aspect is lack of understanding of cooperative principles for members, 3) priority problems in manager aspects is the manager is not professional, 4) priority problems in the business aspect is business not developing, 5) priority problems in the aspect of higher education is lack of attention from higher education to cooperative strategic issues, and 6) priority problems in government aspects is overlapping policies for government.Strategies of KUD revitalization in Banyumas Regency is as follows: 1) restructuring of organizational concept, 2) optimization of the role of training and programs as strengthening ownership and member contributions to KUD, 3) reengeneering in business and institutional of KUD, 4) implementation of operational standards and performance indicators for manager, 5) reencourage the role and academic benefits of higher education to cooperatives and KUDs, and 6) synchronization of the carrying capacity of government policies with KUD needs.
