Abstract
This study is entitled The Effect of Economic Growth, Unemployment Rate, Population, and Education on Poverty in South Sumatra Year 2009-2017. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of economic growth, unemployment rate, population, and education on poverty in South Sumatera in 2009 - 2017. This research is a quantitative study with secondary data from 15 districts / cities in South Sumatera. Based on the results of the study with multiple linear methods panel data with the random effect model shows that education have a significant negative effect, and unemployment rate has a significant positive effect. While the economic growth and population does not have a significant effect on poverty in South Sumatera in 2009-2017. The most influential variable on poverty is the education variable. The implication to overcome poverty in South Sumatera, there should be an increase in employment, improve the quality of human resources to increase productivity, and provide full support for education by reducing the cost of education.
