Abstract

Penelitian ini berjudul “Pengaruh Tingkat Pendidikan dan Status Ekonomi Terhadap Partisipasi Politik Masyarakat Dalam Pemilihan Kepala Daerah Kabupaten Batang Tahun 2017”. Latar Belakang dari penelitian ini yaitu dengan turunnya angka partisipasi politik yaitu diangka 74.4% dari Pilkada sebelumnya yaitu 77%. Hipotesis dalam penelitian ini yaitu H0 tidak ada pengaruh sementara H1 ada pengaruh antara tingkat pendidikan dan status ekonomi terhadap partisipasi politik. sementara tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat pendidikan dan status ekonomi terhadap partisipasi politik dalam pemilihan kepala daerah di Kabupaten Batang tahun 2017. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu purposive sampling dan proportional stratified random sampling. Jumlah sampel yang diambil adalah 100 responden dari total populasi sebanyak 597.025 dengan margin eror 10%. Teknik pengambilan data di dilakukan dengan cara memberikan kuesioner kepada responden. Pada teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah uji validitas, uji reabilitas, uji normalitas, uji linearitas, analisis kendall w, regresi ganda dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah adanya pengaruh antara tingkat pendidikan dan status ekonomi terhadap partisipasi politik hal ini dinyatakan sesuai hasil dari analisis kendall w dengan nilai 197.539 > 0.05 hal ini berarti ada hubungan antara X1 dan X2 dengan Y, serta regresi ganda dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.02 di mana lebih kecil dari 0.05. Sementara untuk besaran pengaruh hanya sebesar 0.69% serta sisanya 99.31% dipengaruhi oleh faktor diluar variabel penelitian. besaran angka pengaruh antar variabel yang hanya 0.69% maka sangat kecil dampaknya dari tingkat pendidikan dan status ekonomi terhadap partisipasi politik Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu telah terbukti bahwa hipotesis kerja atau H1 diterima atas dasar hasil dari analisis Kendall W dan regresi ganda. Artinya ada pengaruh tingkat pendidikan dan status ekonomi terhadap partisipasi politik seperti teori Lipset dan Frank Linderfield yang digunakan dalam skripsi ini. Orang dengan pendidikan tinggi cenderung lebih terbuka terhadap politik di mana orang berpendidikan rendah cenderung menganggap pemungutan suara saja sebagai bentuk partisipasi. Sementara orang dengan status ekonomi tinggi cenderung lebih mudah untuk mengakses informasi politik dibanding orang dengan status ekonomi rendah. Maka dengan demikian hasil dari kesimpulannya yaitu tingkat partisipasi politik masyarakat di Kabupaten Batang akan meningkat seiring dengan meningkatnya tingkat pendidikan dan status ekonomi masyarakat. This study entitled "The Effect of Education Level and Economic Status on Community Political Participation in the Regional Head Election of Batang Regency in 2017". The background of this research is the decline in the political participation rate, which is 74.4% from the previous Pilkada, namely 77%. The hypothesis in this study is that H0 has no effect while H1 has an influence between education level and economic status on political participation. while the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of education level and economic status on political participation in regional head elections in Batang Regency in 2017. The number of samples taken was 100 respondents from a total population of 597,025 with an error margin of 10%. The data collection technique is done by giving questionnaires to respondents. The data analysis techniques used in this research are validity test, reliability test, normality test, linearity test, Kendall w analysis, multiple regression and the coefficient of determination. The amount of influence between variables is only 0.69%, so the impact is very small on the level of education and economic status on political participation. The result of this research is that there is an influence between education level and economic status on political participation. This is stated in accordance with the results of the Kendall w analysis with a value of 197.539> 0.05, this means that there is a relationship between X1 and X2 with Y, and multiple regression with a significance value of 0.02. where less than 0.05. Meanwhile, the amount of influence is only 0.69% and the remaining 99.31% is influenced by factors outside the research variables. The conclusion of this study is that it has been proven that the working hypothesis or H1 is accepted on the basis of the results of the Kendall W analysis and multiple regression. This means that there is an effect of education level and economic status on political participation such as the theory of Lipset and Frank Linderfield which are used in this thesis. People with higher education tend to be more open to politics where people with less education tend to view voting alone as a form of participation. Meanwhile, people with high economic status tend to find it easier to access political information than people with low economic status. So thus the result of the conclusion is that the level of community political participation in Batang Regency will increase along with the increase in the level of education and the economic status of the community.
