Abstract

This research entitled Corporate Governance and Financial Distress in Indonesia ( The Study Of Bank Go Public In Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) year 2013-2016 ). The aims of this research is to obtain the empirical evidence about the influence of managerial ownership, institutional ownership, audit committee, board of directors, and independent commissioners on financial distress. The population of this study are all banking companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). The data collection method in this study were obtained by using purposive sampling method. The analysis technique used multiple linear regression equation. The conclusion of this study are : The managerial ownership has positive effect toward financial distress is not evident, which means that the managerial ownership has no effect in increasing financial distress in banking companies. The institutitonal ownership has negative effect toward financial distress is not evident, which means that the institutional ownership has no effect in reducing financial distress on banking companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange. The audit committee has negative effect toward financial distress is not evident, which means that the audit committee has no effect in reducing financial distress on banking companies in Indonesia Stock Exchange The board of directors and independent commissioners have negative and significant influence toward financial distress of banking companies in Indoneisa Stock Exchange.
