Abstract

Background: The rate of IUD use in women of reproductive age is still low so that there is influence in the selection of the IUD. One of factors affecting the selection contraception tools intra uterine is knowledge. Nurse‟s roles is to provide health education by using video. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of education video towards on the knowledge of mothers in choosing the contraception tools intra uterine. Methods: The study design used quasy experimental non randomized pretestposttest with control group. The sampling technique was accidental sampling which are consists of 20 respondents of the intervention group and 20 respondents of the control group. The data analyze used was paired samples t-test, Wilcoxon test, and Mann Whitney test. Result: The results of this study indicate the average age of respondents is 35,45 old (SD= 5.892), SMA (42%), does not work (92.5%), and having moderate income which is (77.5%). There were significant differences between pretest and posttest knowledge on intervention group (p= 0,000), there were no differences in pretest and posttest scores in the control group (p = 0,317), and next differences in posttest scores between the intervention group and the control group (p= 0,000).
