Abstract

Background. The enormity of anxiety on medical students can negatively affect students’ physical and psychological. Student Oral Case Analysis (SOCA) is a test that is considered to be the most worrisome for medical undergraduate students at Jenderal Soedirman University. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors of Jenderal Soedirman University medical undergradute students’s anxiety in facing Student Oral Case Analysis (SOCA) examination. Method. This study used a qualitative research design with in-depth interviews. Subjects in this study are five main informants who are medical undergraduate students at Jenderal Soedirman University and one subordinate informant. Results and Discussion. The results showed parents’ motivation, the lack of students’ knowledge about the test, the lack of students’ preparation, examiners’ subjectivity, and student’s mortification affected students’ test anxiety. Learning style didn’t directly affect students’ anxiety. Students showed variety symptoms of anxiety. There were several things students done to cope with their anxiety however, there were still students who haven’t found it yet. Conclusion. This study identified the factors of students’ SOCA test anxiety were the parents’ instruction and support, the lack of students’ knowledge about the test, the lack of students’ preparation, examiners’ subjectivity, and student’s mortification.
