Abstract

This research is a comparative study of financial performance in low-cost airlines or LCC in Indonesia, including Airasia Indonesia and Citilink in the period 2016-2018. This research is titled: "Financial Performance Analysis Of Top LCC Airlines In Indonesia Between Airasia and Citilink (Comparison Study in 2016-2018)". The purpose of this research is to find out and compare how significant the difference in financial performance with the calculation of financial ratios of Liquidity, Profitability, and Solvency ratios projected with Quick Ratio, Current Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, Debt Ratio, ROA and ROE. The study focuses on the growth and challenges of two low-cost airlines. The types of data used in this study are secondary data, namely Indonesia AirAsia and Citilink financial statements in 2016, 2017 and 2018 that have been published both on the company's official website and other sites on the internet. Based on the results of research and data analysis shows that: (1) Liquidity Ratio projected with Current Ratio and Quick Ratio between PT Citilink Indonesia and PT Airasia Indonesia Tbk shows no significant difference (2) Profitability Ratio projected with current ROA and ROE between PT Citilink Indonesia and PT Airasia Indonesia Tbk shows no significant difference (3) Solvency Ratio projected with Debt to Equity Ratio and Debt Ratio between PT Citilink Indonesia and PT Airasia Indonesia Tbk shows there is no significant difference. The implication of the conclusion above is that the management of both companies needs to review the low cost strategy, because it greatly impacts the level of revenue received by both companies. The way that can be done among others is to conduct an evaluation of the company's operational costs in order to be known trends or patterns of increase or decrease in operational expenses so that it can be identified trigger factors that increase the level of income and expenditure of the company.
