Abstract

Diabetik nefropati merupakan komplikasi diabetes melitus yang ditandai oleh stres oksidatif, kerusakan struktur glomerulus, dan respons peradangan ginjal. Streptozotocin (STZ) digunakan untuk menginduksi kondisi diabetik nefropati pada tikus. Ekstrak kayu manis (Cinnamomum burmannii) diketahui dapat menurunkan skor kerusakan histopatologi glomerulus. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh ekstrak kayu manis terhadap gambaran histopatologi glomerulus pada ginjal tikus yang diinduksi STZ. Penelitian ini menggunakan tikus Wistar jantan yang diinduksi STZ. Hewan uji dibagi menjadi enam kelompok, yaitu kontrol sehat, STZ, metformin, serta ekstrak kayu manis (C. burmannii) dosis 150, 300, dan 600 mg/kgBB. Pengukuran kadar glukosa darah dilakukan selama 21 hari. Evaluasi ginjal meliputi pengamatan makroskopis dan pemeriksaan histopatologi glomerulus menggunakan pewarnaan hematoksilin-eosin. STZ menyebabkan peningkatan kadar glukosa darah disertai kerusakan glomerulus berupa penebalan kapsula Bowman dan adhesi tuft glomerulus. Secara statistik menggunakan uji Mann-Whitney, kelompok STZ, metformin, serta ekstrak kayu manis dosis 300 dan 600 mg/kgBB menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan dibandingkan kontrol sehat (p < 0,05), sedangkan dosis 150 mg/kgBB tidak berbeda signifikan dari kontrol sehat maupun metformin (p > 0,05) dan berbeda signifikan dengan kelompok STZ (p < 0,05).
