Abstract
This final project report based on industrial job training conducted at Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas from August 26 to December 27, 2024. The job training involved translating the profile menu of the website of Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas from Indonesian into English. The purposes of this job training report were to explaining the implementation of job training in Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas, explaining the translation process and techniques of the profile menu website of Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Daerah Kabupaten Banyumas, explaining the obstacles and the solutions when doing the translation process. In preparing this report, the method used are observation, interview, and hands-on practice. The result of this job training is a translation product that went through seven (7) process and seven (7) translation techniques. The stages were tuning, analysis, understanding, terminology, restructuring, checking, and discussion. Seven (7) translation techniques were amplification, borrowing, literal translation, modulation, transposition, particularization, and equivalent. Additionally, translating the website was presented challenges due to formal government-style language, limited vocabulary, unfamiliar abbreviations, and the need for natural sentence flow. These issues were resolved through supervisors’ guidance, careful use of translation tools, and thorough manual revision. In summary, translation is not merely of transferring a message from the source language (SL) to the target language (TL). Rather, it is a complex process and various techniques used in translation. Moreover, there are challenges that must be faced and solutions that must be found so that the final translation becomes clear and perfect.
