The general concern of this research is improving the students’ understanding on the use of prepositions. The main concern of this research is the implementation of drawing media to improve the students’ understanding on the use of prepositions of place. This research in order to get to know (1) how Drawing Media are implemented at grade seven C students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto; (2) the students’ perceptions related to the implementation of Drawing Media; and (3) whether or not Drawing Media improve the students’ understanding on the use of prepositions of place. The data are collected by using observation, test, interview, and questionnaire. The data are written in the form of fieldnotes and tables. In analyzing the data, the researcher selects and displays the data related to the research objectives. To validate the data, the researcher uses a triangulation method in this research. This research is classified into a case at grade seven C. This research is conducted at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto. The population of this research is grade seven C students consisting of 24 students. This research uses a total sampling technique to gather the samples. The results of this research show that (1) the Drawing Media are implemented in several steps such as, (a) the teacher gives the students brainstorming; (b) the teacher draws something and asks the students guessing, example: a bowl is on the table; (c) the teacher explains prepositions of place using that picture; (d) the teacher asks the students to draw something related to the prepositions of place and present their result to the others; (e) the teacher asks the students to summarize what they have learned together, (2) 91,6% of students agree that drawing media are fun and interesting, they can enjoy the class; (3) the average of students’ in pre-test is 61,9, while in post-test is 86,58. Based on the result, it can be concluded that (1) the Drawing Media are implemented sequentially by the teacher; (2) the students’ perception that Drawing Media are fun and interesting media; (3) Drawing Media improve the students’ understanding on the use of Prepositions of Place. It is suggested that (1) the teachers should use interesting media to make the class more fun and insteresting; (2) the students should practice the prepositions of place more; (3) the other reserachers who are interested in implementing media in teaching prepositions can use many other media such as picture, lego, etc to improve the students’ understanding on the use of prepositions of place. Fokus utama penelitian ini yaitu penerapan media menggambar untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa dalam penggunaan preposisi tempat. Penelitian ini bertujutuan untuk mengetahui (1) bagaimana drawing media diterapkan dalam pembelajaran preposisi tempat pada kelas tujuh C siswa SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto; (2) persepsi siswa terkait penerapan media menggambar; dan (3) apakah media menggambar meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai penggunaan preposisi tempat. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, tes, wawancara, dan kuesioner. Data yang di kumpulkan, ditulis dalam bentuk cacatan lapangan dan tabel. Dalam menganalisa data si peneliti memilih data yang berkaitan dengan tujuan penelitian. Untuk mengetahui Validasi data, peneliti menggunakan metode triangulasi dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian studi kasus. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Purwokerto. Populasi dan sample penelitian adalah siswa kelas tujuh C tahun pembelajaran 2020/2021 yang terdiri dari 24 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) Media menggambar dilakukan dalam beberapa tahap yaitu (a) guru memberikan stimulasi; (b) guru menggambar sesuatu dan menanyakan siswa terkait gambar tersebut; (c) guru menjelaskan preposisi tempat dengan menggambar sesuatu, misalnya mengambar sebuah mangkok di atas meja; (d) guru meminta siswa menggambarkan sesuatu terkait preposisi tempat dan mempresentasikannya; (e) guru meminta siswa merangkum materi pembelajaran secara bersamaan, (2) siswa menyatakan bahwa drawing media sangat menyenangkan dan menarik, (3) Nilai rata-rata siswa pada yaitu 61.9 sedangkan pada pos-tes yaitu 86,5. Berdasarkan hasil penilitian dan disimpulkan bahwa (1) Media menggambar diterapkan secara berurutan oleh guru, (2) persepsi siswa bahwa media menggambar ada media yang menyenangkan dan menarik, (3) media menggambar meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang penggunaan preposisi tempat. Disarankan bahwa (1) guru sebaiknya menggunakan media yang menarik agar kelas lebih menyenangkan, (2) siswa sebaiknya banyak berlatih perposisi tempat, (2) peneliti lain yang tertarik untuk menerapkan media dalam pembelajaran preposisi, dapat menggunakan media lain serperti gambar, lego, dll untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai preposisi tempat.
