Abstract

The final report entitled ‘’Translating National Geographic Magazine ‘’133 Destination Rated’’ from English into Indonesian’’. The job training was carried out from September 1st, 2021- September 30, 2021.The purposes of this job training are to translating the text in the National Geographic Magazine Traveler ‘’133 Destination Rated’’, describing the process of translating and explaining the obstacles when translating the National Geographic Magazine Traveler ‘’133 Destination Rated’’ and the solutions to these problem.In writing this final report 2 methods are used, namely literature study and direct practice. There are three steps in translate the magazine, those are analyzing source language text, transferring from source language into target language, restructuring the text message in the target language. Then, there are several techniques used when translating this magazine, namely Borrowing, Description, Discursive Creation and Modulation.In addition, there are several obstacles in translating the magazine, such as: lack of vocabulary mastery in source language then find terms that do not have the exact equivalent and difficulty in determining the equivalent of words in target language The solutions as by dealing with it, using a digital dictionary or a manual dictionary to get the appropriate equivalent, using descriptive translation technique, and searching and learning the term in the source language and consults with the proofreader.
