Abstract

This research is entitled "Fictional Poioumena in Rainbow Rowell's Fangirl" and aims to find out Poioumena as a metafiction in Fangirl. The theory used in conducting this research is Poioumena which was initiated by Alaistar Fowler (1986). To answer the problem formulation, a descriptive qualitative method was used in analyzing the data. Meanwhile, the main data in this study were taken from the novel by Rainbow Rowell entitled Fangirl. To be able to find out the specific type of metafiction from the narrative collected from the novel, in particular Fowler's Poioumena theory was used in this study. Based on the analysis carried out, in the novel there is a writing process that is created by the main character which results in a work inside the work that refers to the connection of the narrator and character inside the work. The work is fanfiction entitled Carry On, taken from the original character Simon Snow by Gemma T. Leslie.
