Abstract

The development era affects the development of various needs, such as clothes. Clothes that is growing rapidly is imported thrift clothing. Imported thrift clothes are used clothes that have world-famous brands and very popular, especially among students. Therefore, the researcher is interested to do the research about the factors that influence the demand for imported thrift clothes at FEB Unsoed. This study aims to determine the effect of income, price of imported thrift clothes, price of imported new clothes, and price of local new clothes on the demand for imported thrift clothes on FEB Unsoed students. This study uses primary data that obtained by questionnaires. Population in this study were FEB Unsoed students. Determination of the samples number using Taro Yamane formula and obtained 100 students. The sampling technique use simple random sampling, and the data analysis technique used is Multiple Linear Regression Analysis using SPSS 25 Software. The results of this study indicate that overall the variables have a significant effect on the demand for imported thrift clothing on FEB Unsoed students. Partially, income has a positive and significant effect, price of imported thrift clothes has a negative and significant effect, the price of imported new clothes has a positive and significant effect, and the price of local new clothes has a positive and significant effect on the demand for imported thrift clothes on FEB Unsoed students. The implication of this research is that the seller who sells imported thrift clothes should keep the price affordable. With these affordable prices, the demand from buyers for imported thrift clothes can still high, so it can provide benefits for both buyers and sellers.
