Abstract
In an effort to enrich students' vocabulary, teachers need to have learning methods that are interesting and suitable for students. The hypnoteaching approach is one intriguing learning strategy. This study aims to show is there any different significantly in students’ vocabulary through the implementation hypnoteaching at SMA N 3 Purwokerto students in the academic year of 022/2023. This study uses a mixed method research. The data of this research are students’ test result, result of interview, and result of observation. The absence of vocabulary in their English lessons is a difficulty for the class XI students at SMA N 3 Purwokerto. Class XI IPS 1 served as the experimental group for this study at SMA N 3 Purwokerto, and class XI MIPA 1 served as the control group. With a total of 72 students from 2 groups. This study included statistical computation techniques, interviews, and observations. According to the study's findings, the experimental group's results differ significantly from the control group's results by 0.018. Additionally, this study can also display the mean difference between the two groups. The experimental group was larger than the control group, with a mean difference of 5.33% between the two groups. In the interviews, most students expressed a desire for other professors to employ the hypnoteaching teaching style since, in their opinion, it was entertaining and not at all tedious. In comparison to the traditional teaching style, they claimed that hypnoteaching helped them become more focused learners. The implementation of the hypnoteaching method and the conventional method also differ from one another in the observation list. One of which is that there aren't any motivational activities like there are in the hypnoteaching method in the conventional approach. A narrative is also told by the instructor at the start of class as part of the hypnoeducational method to get the students' attention. The researcher suggests other teachers to learn about hypnoteaching method and implement it to the class so that the students will be more active and focus in daily learning, especially English.
