Abstract

Lavendaire is a podcast about personal growth and lifestyle design. Lavendaire is available on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Podcast and is hosted by YouTuber and entrepreneur named Aileen Xu. The podcast shares various insights and inspiration on how to shine as the brightest self and create of dream life. The podcast from Aileen Xu uses everyday language so that it is easy for all people to learn and to understand. An example of Aileen Xu's podcast is How to Heal Your Emotional Trauma and Past Wounds. The podcast has a Mental Health theme. In translating the transcripts from this podcast, the translation process consists of 4 stages, namely, the analysis stage, the transfer stage, the reconstruction stage, and the evaluation and revision stage. Other than that, there were six translation techniques applied, namely Borrowing, Literal Translation, Linguistic Compression, Amplification, Variation, and Description. The obstacle found in the process of translating was the lack of understanding of vocabulary in the source language and the next obstacle was the difficulty in finding the appropriate choice of words and terms in the target language. To overcome these obstacles, the first solution was to use a manual dictionary. Another solution was to ask the supervisors or a proofreader when the writer was still having trouble finding the right equivalent and the last solution was to adjust the context with the right language style.
