Abstract

The title of this research is the factors that influence the consumption expenditure of visitors at Sunmor GOR Satria Purwokerto. Sunmor is one of the traditional markets that operates only on Sundays, located in front of GOR Satria Purwokerto. The strategic place and the main road used as a trading location (Car Free Day) make the GOR more crowded than usual. Thus, resulting in increased consumption expenditure of visitors at Sunmor because the number of goods traded can provide several options for visitors to shop according to their wants and needs. This study aims to analyse the influence of income, education level, age, travel distance, and gender on visitors' consumption expenditure at Sunmor GOR Satria Purwokerto and to analyse which variable is the most influential at Sunmor GOR Satria Purwokerto. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method. This research uses primary data taken from 100 respondents at Sunmor GOR Satria Purwokerto with purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using survey methods through questionnaires given to respondents in accordance with the predetermined sample. The data analysis technique used is Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. Based on the results of research and data analysis shows that income, age and travel distance have a significant influence on visitor consumption expenditure at Sunmor GOR Satria Purwokerto. While the level of education and gender have no significant effect on consumption expenditure at Sunmor GOR Satria Purwokerto. This study also shows that the most influential variable is income in Sunmor GOR Satria Purwokerto. The conclusion of the research shows that the variables that have a significant effect on consumption expenditure are income, age and distance travelled. Variables that have no effect are education level and gender. Income variable is the most influential variable on consumption expenditure. The implication of this study is the need for additional provision of supporting facilities at Sunmor such as garbage disposal and hand washing stations that are more considered. Road access at the entrance and exit at Sunmor should be reviewed and improved to make it more organised and orderly. The need for a better management system by the government to maintain the existence of the market so as not to lose competition with the many modern markets that have sprung up so that Sunmor can continue to develop for the better in the future.
