Abstract

Laporan ini berjudul "Pembuatan Brosur Promosi Bahasa Inggris di Hotel Elsotel Purwokerto dan didasarkan pada kegiatan praktik kerja di Hotel Elsotel Purwokerto. Tujuan utama dari praktik kerja ini adalah untuk membuat brosur promosi yang akan menjadi pembaharuan versi bahasa Inggris dari brosur yang dimiliki oleh Elsotel saat ini, dan brosur tersebut akan dicetak secara fisik. Brosur Hotel Elsotel dan dicetak, dan brosur tersebut tersedia dalam bahasa Inggris. Ada tiga metode yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan data, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Observasi dilakukan dengan mengamati hotel, fasilitas dan media promosi hotel. Kemudian wawancara dilakukan dengan mengajukan pertanyaan kepada manajer Hotel Elsotel dan dokumentasi dilakukan dengan mengambil foto-foto jenis kamar dan fasilitas yang tersedia. Hasil dari praktik kerja ini adalah membuat dan memperbaharui brosur dalam bahasa Inggris. Brosur tersebut menjelaskan secara detail deskripsi Hotel Elsotel Purwokerto, mulai dari lokasi, harga kamar, dan segala fasilitas yang ada disana. Selama praktik kerja, ada dua kendala yang dihadapi penulis. Salah satu kendala yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan pengetahuan penulis dalam mengoperasikan software desain di komputer. Selain itu, terdapat kendala miskomunikasi dengan pihak pengelola Elsotel terkait dengan desain brosur dan branding Elsotel yang tidak sesuai dengan standar Hotel Elsotel. Untuk mengatasi kendala tersebut, penggunaan aplikasi desain yang mudah digunakan di handphone oleh pemula atau orang yang kurang berpengalaman dalam menggunakan software di komputer. Untuk kendala lainnya, diperlukan diskusi untuk menghindari miskomunikasi dan memungkinkan terjadinya pertemuan yang produktif dengan general manager dan tim sales marketing. The report is entitled "Creating English Promotion Brochure at Elsotel Hotel Purwokerto and is based on the job training activities at Elsotel Hotel Purwokerto. The main purposes of this job training was to create a promotional Brochure which would be the updating English version of the current brochure that Elsotel have, and the brochure would be physically printed. Elsotel Hotel brochure and printed, and the brochure is available in English. There are three methods used to obtain data, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Observation was done by observing the hotel, facilities and media promote the hotel. Then interviews were conducted by asking questions to the manager of Elsotel Hotel and documentation was done by taking photos of the types of rooms and facilities available. The result of this job training is to create and upgrade brochures in English. The brochure explains in detail the description of Elsotel Hotel Purwokerto, starting from the location, room rates, and all the facilities that are there. During the job training, there were two obstacles that the writer faced. One of the obstacles was the writer's limit of knowledge to operating design software on the computer. In addition, there were obstacles in miscommunication with the manager of Elsotel related to the design of Elsotel brochures and branding that are not in accordance with Elsotel Hotel standards. To overcome this obstacle, the used of design applications that are easy to used on mobile phones by beginners or people who are less experienced in using software on computers. For other obstacles, discussions are needed to avoid miscommunication and enable productive meetings with the general manager and sales marketing team.
