Abstract

Labor productivity in an area is calculated from output divided by the number of workers in that area. The output value used is the value of gross domestic regional product (GDRP). Labor productivity measurements are carried out to determine the condition and ability of a region to achieve its goals based on the capabilities of its human resources. If labor productivity are still relatively low, workers competency or training must be increased. Meanwhile, if labor productivity is considered high, then maintenance still needs to carried out so the productivity achieved and not decreased. But labor productivity level in Indonesia currently still below the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) average. The purpose of this research are to examine the factors that might affected labor productivity in Indonesia. The research objects are 8 years data of labor productivity, mean years of schooling, provincial minimum wage, life expectancy and ICT development index in Indonesia. The type of data that was used in this research are secondary data so that data collection is carried out using intermediary media or processed and recorded by other people. The analysis method used is panel data regression. The research results show that mean years of schooling and IDI has a significant effect on labor productivity, while provincial minimum wage and life expectancy has no significant effect on labor productivity. The implications of this research for the government are Indonesian government needs to continue to improve the quality of labor productivity based on the factors studied, such as in the fields of education, health and welfare, workforce quality and technology, so it is hoped that labor productivity can increased.
