Abstract

This research explores Movie Clips as media that can be used for teaching recount text. The reason for conducting this research is that many students experience difficulties learning English at school due to a lack of knowledge, including at MTs Al-Mukarromah Sampang Cilacap. To increase students' learning motivation, learning media is needed. This research used descriptive qualitative design using three data collection techniques: interview, observation, and documentation. The sample of this research was an English teacher in 8th grade of MTs Al-Mukarromah Sampang Cilacap. This research aims to discover how the teacher implements movie clips as media, the problems, and the teacher's solution to cope with the problems. Data processing or analysis in this research uses thematic analysis. The conclusions of this research are: (1) movie clips greatly influence students' focus and enthusiasm to teach recount text and teacher implement in a great way (2) the teacher faced some problems, both internal and external factors; internal factors were lack of vocabulary and grammar error. External factors were lack of time and misspelling (3) the teacher could have solved the problems well by giving more examples, re-explaining the material, preparing better equipment and managing the time allocation.
