Abstract
This study analyzes the translation techniques and accuracy of imperative sentences on NCT concert regulation public notices from Dyandra Global Edutainment’s Instagram posts, focusing on posts related to NCT units and members concerts from October 24, 2022, to August 1, 2024. Using Rahardi’s (2005) theory of imperative sentence types, Molina and Albir’s (2002) translation techniques, and Nababan et al.’s (2012) accuracy scale, the researcher collected the data through content analysis of Instagram posts and a questionnaire completed by professional translators and a translation studies graduate student. The findings reveal that ordinary imperative sentences dominate the dataset, with literal translation being the dominant technique to maintain accuracy. While 80% of translations are accurate, shifts caused by amplification and transposition occasionally reduce precision, highlighting the challenges of balancing cultural adaptation with the need to preserve the directive tone. These results emphasize the importance of selecting appropriate translation techniques to ensure public notices’ accuracy, authority, and cultural relevance. This study offers valuable insights for translators, promoters, and researchers, encouraging broader exploration of translation practices in event communication to enhance audience comprehension and experience.
