Abstract

This final report is based on the job training that was carried out on September 2 – December 10, 2024. The purpose of this report is to explain the implementation of the job training, the process of making a promotional video with English subtitles, and the obstacles and solutions in producing promotional video at Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Kebumen. Tourism in Kebumen Regency holds great potential, but due to limited promotion of destinations like Pecaron Beach and Van Der Wijck Fortress, the writer created engaging Instagram-based promotional videos to increase visibility, attract more visitors, and support local economic growth. In compiling this final report, three methods were used: observation, documentation, and interviews. These methods were applied to support the internship activities, particularly in creating promotional videos with English subtitles. The final product consists of two videos featuring English voice-over narration with Indonesian subtitle. The create of English promotional video followed three main stages: pre-production, production, and post-production. These stages involved the development of concepts and scripts, on-site video recording at Pecaron Beach and Van Der Wijck Fortress using mobile devices and voice-over narration, video editing using the CapCut application, and final publication through the official Instagram account of Dinas Pariwisata dan Kebudayaan Kabupaten Kebumen. The obstacles in completing the project included unpredictable weather at the beach, the considerable distance from the writer’s residence to Pecaron Beach, poor road conditions leading to the location, and difficulties in adding the voice-over. To overcome these issues, the writer rescheduled filming for better weather, coordinated with a local companion to ease the route process, and practiced voice-over delivery multiple times to achieve a more dynamic and engaging result.
