Abstract

The research has a title of “Determinants of Indonesia’s Footwear Export Value to the Destination Countries in Europe”. Export itself has such extensive and important role in an economy of a country. Which one of them are as the income of a country or as the driving force of an economic growth in a country. The size of the value of a country’s export, whether it’s big or small, is determined and affected by several factors such as exchange rate, production, price, GDP and so on. This research has a purpose to analyze the effects of those variabels against Indonesia’s footwear export value. The variables that are used in this research are the dollar exchange rate against rupiah, footwear export price, and the GDP of export destination countries as the independent variables and the dependent variable is Indonesia’s footwear export value. The type of data used in this research is secondary data which are collected from the related sources with the period of time is from 2003 to 2015. While the countries that are included and chosen as the destination countries are five countries such as United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands and Germany. And the research method used in this research to analyze the relation and influence between those variables against Indonesia’s footwear export value is panel data regression analysis. The result obtained from this research shows that the footwear export price and the GDP of export destination countries variables have a positive and significant effect to Indonesia’s footwear export value. On the other hand, the dollar exchange rate against rupiah has a positive effect but insignificant to Indonesia’s footwear export value which allegedly it is caused that Indonesia already has its market share in another country so that the changings in the exchange rate doesn’t affect Indonesia’s footwear export value. Other than that, the growth of Indonesia’s footwear export value to five main destination countries in 2003 to 2015 tend to increase. The implication of this research is that expectedly the goverment should supervise and control from time to time to maintain the stability of Indonesia’s footwear export prices. Other than that the government may stipulate policies in order to ensure that the export value of Indonesia’s footwear remains and continues to increase over time such as providing or giving and facilitating facilities for exporters, especially footwear exporters in handling export-related requirements so that exporters are stimulated to continue to increase their exports.
