Abstract

Abstract This research aims to find out how the South Korean civil society movement is fighting for the issue of comfort women. The phenomenon of comfort women is interesting to study because the issue of comfort women and the rights of victims of comfort women have not been resolved so far. In this research, the author uses the concept of Non-Violent Actions to explain the form of the peaceful anti-violence movement carried out by the South Korean comfort women's solidarity. Non-Violent Actions are considered important as a concept to translate the efforts of the South Korean people in voicing their aspirations and demands in the issue of comfort women. As a combination of resistance and construction, as well as non-violent action against violence aimed at creating a struggle with the need for negotiations, inclusive and fair for all parties, both from the government and civil society. This study uses a qualitative method using the level of group analysis because it discusses the efforts of the South Korean people in fighting for the comfort woman issue. The data obtained can be social media or newspapers, news, journals, and official government websites. The results of this study show that several South Korean civil society movements in fighting for the issue of comfort women as a form of application of the Non-Violent Action concept in the period 2016 to 2019 include: demonstration (Wednesday demonstration), making a statue of Pyeonghwa-Bi, war and women's human right museum, forming Asian Women Solidarity and establishing solidarity with the international community. Keywords: Comfort women, South Korea, Japan, Civil Society Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana gerakan masyarakan sipil Korea Selatan dalam memperjuangkan isu comfort women. Fenomena comfort women menarik untuk diteliti karena belum tuntasnya isu comfort women dan penyelesaian hak-hak terhadap korban comfort women selama ini. Dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan konsep Non-Violent Actions untuk menjelaskan bentuk gerakan damai anti kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh solidaritas comfort women Korea Selatan. Non-Violent Actions dirasa penting sebagai konsep untuk menerjemahkan upaya masyarakat Korea Selatan dalam menyuarakan aspirasi dan tuntutan dalam isu comfort women. Sebagi kombinasi perlawanan dan konstruksi, serta aksi melawan kekerasan tanpa kekerasan yang ditujukan untuk membuat suatu perjuangan dengan perlu adanya sebuah negosiasi, inklusif dan adil untuk semua pihak baik dari sisi pemerintah maupun masyarakat sipil. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menggunakan level analisis kelompok karena membahas mengenai upaya masyarakat Korea Selatan dalam memperjuangkan isu comfort woman. Penelitian ini mengambil data melalui data sekunder sumber data tidak secara langsung diberikan kepada pengumpul data. Data yang diperoleh bisa dari media sosial atau berita koran, jurnal serta situs resmi pemerintah. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan beberapa gerakan masyarakat sipil Korea Selatan dalam memperjuangkan isu comfort women sebagai bentuk pengaplikasian dari konsep Non-Violent Action pada kurun waktu 2016 hingga tahun 2019 diantaranya adalah aksi demonstrasi (wednesday demonstration), pembuatan patung Pyeonghwa-bi, war and women’s human right museum, membentuk Asian Women Solidarity dan menjalin solidaritas dengan komunitas internasional.
