Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, Jenderal Soedirman University, Humanities Faculty, English Department, English Study Program, Purwokerto. This research entitled ―Indian Education as Seen in Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone and Its Adaptation Film 3 Idiots” is aimed to figure out the similarities and the differences of Indian education as seen in Five Point Someone and its adaptation film 3 Idiots. This research uses qualitative method in analysing the main data of the research. The main data of this research are taken from Five Point Someone and 3 Idiot. In analysing the data, the researcher uses Film Adaptation theory by Linda Hutcheon by comparing the education aspects of Five Point Someone and 3 Idiots and character and characterization as the literary devices. There are 2 steps in answering the research question. The first step is collecting data from the novel, film and other sources which relate to Indian education. The second step is examining the similarities and the differences of both works; the novel and the film, by dividing them into addition and deletion. Based on the analysis, the researcher figures out the similarities and the differences of Indian education can be seen from two categories, addition and deletion. Furthermore, deletion consists of students’ psychological aspect, educator and teaching method, while addition are students’ psychological aspect, educator teaching method, curriculum and socio-economy. Besides, the researcher also figures out that Hirani’s motive in adding and deleting some parts of the story is due to his personal and political views.
