Keywords: translation on implicature, translation technique, pragmatic The research is aimed to identify the types of implicatures in the main character utterances containing implicatures and the techniques that used to translate conversational implicature. The approach implemented in this study is pragmatics on translation. The research method applied in this study is qualitative descriptive. The main data are all utterances in characters that embodies implicatures and their translations in the form of Indonesian movie subtitle. In conducting the research, the researcher used purposive sampling technique. Grice’s theory of implicature and Molina and Albir’s theory of translation technique are used to conduct the research. The result shows that there are 28 implicatures found in the utterances uttered by main characters in the movie. All types of implicatures found in the translation are Assertive (10 data), Directive (5 data), Commisive (6 data) and Expressive (7 data). There are technique variations used to translate the implicatures. They are triplet technique applied to 5 data, couplet applied to 16 data of implicatures and 7 data using the single technique of translation. The assertive utterances are mostly found in this movie. It means that the main characters tried to convey their intention, thoughts, feelings and needs clearly, and honestly. Most implicature utterances in the Avengers movie maintain the implicit form in the TL by using established equivalent, modulation, literal, linguistic compression, reduction and variation techniques. Some of them that are translated by using amplification become explicit or the implicatures in SL change in TL.
