Abstract
The field of research is sociolinguistics. The questions of this research are to describe the characteristics of registers and identify the function of registers used by British Highschoolers in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. To answer the research questions, the researcher uses Finch’s theory of function of register. The research aims to find out the meaning and the characteristics of registers used by British Highschoolers in Korean Englishman YouTube videos and to describe the functions of the register used by British Highschoolers in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method in analyzing the data of research which is the register found in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. The research results show that there are 46 registers used by British Highschoolers in Korean Englishman YouTube videos. Furthermore, only 2 of 5 functions are found in this research. They are consultative register and casual register. Casual register is the most frequently function of register found in Korean Englishman YouTube videos.
