Abstract

The inequality of economic development is a common aspect in the economic activities of a region, including in Cilacap Regency. This inequality is basically due to differences in natural resource content and differences in demographic conditions in each region. As a result of these differences, the ability of an area with other regions in the process of economic development also becomes different. Therefore, it is not surprising that in every country / region there is usually a developed and backward region (Sjafrizal, 2008). In Cilacap Regency itself there is a fairly high economic inequality between districts, where the economic inequality itself is influenced by the high education inequality, poverty, and population growth. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Inequality of the high education inequality, poverty and population growth to economic inequality among sub-districts in Cilacap Regency. Data analysis method used is descriptive analysis method and quantitative analysis method during period 2010 to 2015, and object of this research is 24 subdistricts in Cilacap Regency. Independent variables are used high education inequality, poverty and population growth, while the dependent variable used is the economic inequality among sub-districts in Cilacap Regency. The quantitative method used to analyze the influence between variables is the analysis of Data Panel Regression. From the research that has been done, then got the result that variable high education inequality, poverty and population growth have positive effect to economic inequality among sub-district in Cilacap Regency. The implication of this research is that local government of Cilacap Regency can focus more on efforts to reduce economic inequality among sub-districts so that it not only focus on increasing GRDP only. These efforts include improving the quality of human resources through higher education, making equitable development to overcome the problem of poverty, and re-activate the KB program to control population growth
