Abstract

This final report is entitled “Creating Bilingual Video on Instagram of Yogyakarta Tourism Office to Promote Local Events”. The job training was conducted on 2 September 2024 – 13 December 2024 at Dinas Pariwisata Kota Yogyakarta. The objectives of the internship were to explain the implementation of the job training at the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office, to produce one bilingual promotional video for promoting local events through the official Instagram account of the office, and to identify the problems and solutions encountered during the video creation process. During the internship, several data collection methods were applied, including observation, interview, and documentation. Observation was conducted by directly monitoring promotional activities, workflow processes, and social media content production at the Yogyakarta City Tourism Office. Interviews were carried out with marketing staff to obtain information regarding promotional strategies, challenges in producing bilingual content, and the needs of target audiences, particularly international tourists. Documentation was conducted by collecting supporting data such as photographs, event videos, social media content archives, and other relevant administrative documents related to tourism promotion activities. As a solution, the writer produced one bilingual promotional video in Indonesian and English, supported by engaging visuals and clear translations. The video was created through planning, material collection, and editing to improve promotional effectiveness and expand its reach to both domestic and international tourists. Laporan praktik kerja ini berjudul “Membuat Video Dua Bahasa di Instagram Dinas Pariwisata Yogyakarta untuk Mempromosikan Acara-acara Lokal”. Kegiatan praktik kerja ini dilaksanakan pada 2 September 2024 – 13 Desember 2024 di Dinas Pariwisata Kota Yogyakarta. Tujuan dilaksanakan praktik kerja ini adalah untuk menjelaskan proses pelaksanaan kerja praktik di Dinas Pariwisata Kota Yogyakarta, menghasilkan satu video promosi bilingual untuk mempromosikan acara-acara lokal melalui akun Instagram resmi Dinas Pariwisata Kota Yogyakarta, serta mengidentifikasi permasalahan dan solusi dalam proses pembuatan video promosi tersebut. Selama praktik, penulis menerapkan beberapa metode pengumpulan data, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Metode observasi dilakukan dengan mengamati secara langsung kegiatan promosi, serta proses produksi konten media sosial di lingkungan Dinas Pariwisata Kota Yogyakarta. Metode wawancara dilakukan dengan staf bagian pemasaran untuk memperoleh informasi terkait strategi promosi, kendala dalam pembuatan konten bilingual, serta kebutuhan audiens, khususnya wisatawan mancanegara. Sementara itu, metode dokumentasi dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan data berupa foto, video kegiatan, serta dokumen pendukung lainnya yang relevan dengan kegiatan promosi pariwisata. Sebagai solusi, penulis memproduksi satu video promosi dalam bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris dengan visual yang menarik dan terjemahan yang jelas. Video tersebut dibuat melalui tahap perencanaan, pengambilan materi, dan penyuntingan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas promosi serta memperluas jangkauan kepada wisatawan domestik dan mancanegara.
