Abstract
Psychoanalysis, first invented by Sigmund Freud, is basically considered as psychological theories and techniques of treating mental disorders, Carl Jung is another psychologist that has the same interest in psychology but both scientists have different understanding. The greatest distinction between their clarifications of the unconscious mind is that Freud accepted it was the result of individual experiences while Jung accepted that the unconscious was acquired from past human experience. As indicated by Jung, the collective unconscious is comprised of an assortment of information and symbolism that each individual is brought into the world and is shared by all people because of hereditary experience. This research correlated it with psychoanalysis in the object of research which is Avatar (2009). When humans arrived on Pandora, they actually changed the landscape due to mining corporations and the human protagonist or the scientist in the movie are shown a destructive behavior urged by the unconscious mind with the help of the study of psychoanalysis, environmental psychology, and cinematography analysis
