The Implementation of Mapping Technique in Teaching Writing Recount Text (An Experimental Study on the Tenth Grade Students at SMA Bruderan Purwokerto in the Academic Year of 2022/2023). Thesis. Supervisor 1: Muhamad Ahsanu, S.Pd., M.Sc., M. Hum., Supervisor 2: Dian Adiarti, S.Pd., M. Hum., External Examiner: Slamet Riyadi, S.S, M.Pd., Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, Jenderal Soedirman University, Faculty of Humanities, Department of Language Education, Purwokerto. The title of this research is “The Implementation of Mapping Technique in Teaching Writing Recount Text (An Experimental Study for the Tenth Grade Students at SMA Bruderan Purwokerto)”. The objectives of this research are to find out the implementation of mind mapping technique in teaching writing recount text and the effectiveness of mind mapping technique in teaching writing recount text. This research is experimental research using quasi-experimental research. The whole students of the tenth-grade students, which consists of 67 students is the population of this research. Meanwhile, the sample of this research is XA as the experimental class and XC as the control class. The researcher used classroom observation sheets and tests to collect the data. Based on the instrument of classroom observation sheets, all items were check-list. The researcher also led pre-test and post-test. It can be seen that from the mean score before receiving the treatment the experimental group was 65 and became 71, and also the t-test result showed that the calculation result was 2.957 > 0.05 (t-table 2.037). So, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. This can be concluded that the mind mapping technique improved for the students in teaching writing recount text.
